I have a strange problem with combo boxes only on the HTC One M8 phone.
(I have used a TButtonComboBox)

When a combox box drops down no selection can be made from the dropped
down list. Has anybody else come across this with any other browsers?

I have tried both Chrome and CM browsers on the Android devices with the same result.

Which devices are you using ?  We test here with a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2/3,
and a Samsung Galaxy S3/S5 using Chrome (latest).

Hi Tim,

It works on my Galaxy S3 and Note 2 but doesn't work on a brand new HTC
One M8

I can duplicate the problem on on my Nexus 4 phone (android 5.1.1. and
chrome 43.0.2357.93).

Both TButtonComboBox and TEditComboBox have the issue - once you get the
selection list to open i cannot pick an item (clicking  on form itself
does close the dropdown without making a selection ok).

Firefox (38.0.5) on the same phone works fine so issue is just with
chrome for me.

However, Chrome works fine on nexus 7 tablet (android 5.0.2 and chrome
43.0.2357.93 also).

So for me it's chrome on phone device only.

I have a Nexus 7 2013, a Sony Xperia Z3 Compact and a Lenovo IdeaPad S6000. Running an EWB1 project, combobox will not work with either Chrome 43 or CM Browser 5.1.

Just to clarify:  this doesn't work with EWB 1 either ?  If so, then we're
probably talking about a browser bug and not something specific to EWB 2.

@Tim -  I have only tried it with EWB1 and it does not work. I also tried it with another browser (RoboForm internal browser) without success.

Tim,

I am a new user of EWB. I came across the same problem mentioned in this thread. After Raul's reply to my message to point this thread as it is the same issue I will comment here.

The problem is a real show stopper for me.
I don't mean that this is an EWB bug, it is a browser problem but we need a workaround.
We are planning to deploy Google Nexus with Chrome Android Lollipop 5.1.1 to our users and I don't want to install FireFox just to overcome this issue.

I looked into EWB webui.wbs to see what happens at event level and tried to compare FireFox and Chrome event sequences. I noticed a difference. FireFox triggers touch end at correct time so you trigger click or double click. But certain chrome versions (even the latest versions) does not trigger touch end.

https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=19827

After googling found some workarounds but I am no javascript guy.
Please provide us a workaround because it may never be fixed and more new tablets/phones may start behaving this way.

Thanks
Emin
