# 4337 Missing Index File Can Result in a Corrupted Index When Competing Clients Try to Recreate the Index

I have discovered that the ODBC driver does open a table without an index (and thus creates it). The problem is that on some tables the index that is created is corrupt.

I have included a table called ItemSubject.dat and the index that was created by the ODBC drive. You can see that it would appear that there are duplicate records. If you fix that index or delete the index and open it with dbsys.exe, the index is valid and there are no duplicate records.
