"Erik" | Hi,
I've set up a c/s application with the remote address 192.168.12.254 which points to my server. port = 12005 this is in my local network I want to have access out of this local network when I am "on the road" I can access with my laptop via mstsc and connecting address (let say it is 81.200.100.21) (of course I must type my username and password for accessing the network) this works when I use 81.200.100.21 instead of 192.168.12.254 to access the dbisam server and databases, the program fails, there is no connection. there is no password-dialog screen for accessing the local network. what do I do wrong / do I forget ? can somebody give me a clear answer ? thanks in advance, Erik |

"J. B. Ferguson" | Ralf,
He shouldn't have to if he has a static IP address (which according to his message it appears he has.) -- Regards, Jan Ferguson Ralf Mimoun wrote: > André Prins wrote: > > Erik wrote: > > > > > what do I do wrong / do I forget ? > > > > Maybe you forgot to open port 12005 in your router? > > And you should set up a dyndns account. > > Ralf Ralf |

Can you ping the IP 81.200.100.21 ? If so then try to connect using DBSYS instead of your application and see if it works. And of course, make sure the 12005 port is opened at the router. Eduardo |
