Connections Being Dropped. |

Steve Gill | A customer using my application is experiencing disconnections that can occur every few minutes to every few hours. All of the clients disconnect at the same time, which tends to suggest that either the server is dropping the connections or something other than the client end is causing it. KeepConnections is set to True. The customer is sending me the trace file so I can see if there's anything strange in there. No other customers have reported this problem. Any ideas? Delphi 7 DBISAM 4.24 Build 1 Thanks. Regards, SteveG |

It's just a way of specifying that sessions should keep all database connections around until the session is closed. As for the problem you're seeing - my guess would be faulty hardware or a firewall issue, or someone at the site is stopping the database server. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

I ran into an issue where the server was installed under a login account (not as a service) and when that person logged out, or was logged out by a screensaver, the server blipped off. -Johnnie |

I thought it was some sort of "keep alive" signal to the server. >As for the problem you're seeing - my guess would be faulty hardware or a >firewall issue, or someone at the site is stopping the database server. Thanks. I'll get them to check it out. Regards, SteveG |
