Thread Setting up server during install

"Robert Rowlands"
Hello

I use InstallShield.

After the files have been copied (including dbsrvr.exe to System32) a small
application is run that logs into the server, changes the log in and
password and sets a couple of paths to the databases.

On some machines it fails and the server remains unconfigured.  The
application then fails with

'DBISAM Engine Error # 11280 A connection to the database server at
'127.0.0.1' cannot be established.'

Is it OK to set up the server during installation?

Has anyone any suggestions?

Thanks.

Rob

It depends upon what you're trying to do and whether the user doing the
installation has the rights to do it.  Did you get any logs from
InstallShield regarding why the installation didn't complete ?
