Thread Service stopping on logout of user

Hi

Hoping someone can advise.  We are using V3.30 of DBISAM.  We have a client
who has C/S installed as a service (think it is 2003 server, but I can
confirm).  It works just fine until he logs off as admin user.  The service
appears to then shut down also.  We have looked at service properties and it
appears to be using a system account.  Has anyone experienced this issue or
can give us some ideas on why this would be occurring and mabe how to
resolve.

Also just out of interest we have also found when installing services that
soemtimes it doesnt set itself to auto-start.  This doesnt appear to happen
everywhere just on the occassion.  Is there an option in Windows server that
might cause this, or different versions of server maybe?

Thanks

Alex

It was installed without /NOINTERACT parameter.
To solve this you can disable interact with desktop.

1) Start button
2) Run
3) Services.MSC
4) go to DBRSVR
5) Right button
6) Properties
7) Logon page
8) Uncheck "Interact with desktop"

This shutdown will not occur again.
I don´t know exactly if I am using the correct words because my local
language inWindows is "Brazilian Portuguese", but I think you will get the
idea.

See Eduardo's excellent response - it is 100% correct.

Not that I'm aware of.  We test it here with Windows 2003 and it seems to
set itself to auto-start at all times when it is installed.  Are you sure
that the end user is not modifying the service properties and setting it to
manual start after the installation ?

Thanks for responses

No definitely not the end user because I've seen it happen myself at client
site installations.  It could be a server version issue, not sure, I will
have to investigate further.
