The headers on your help file are white text. They are barely visible
on the cream background I use. It's a minor irritation, but irritating
nonetheless.

It's hard for us to control for what system colors are being used with the
help.  If you want to change this, just click on the Options menu in the
help, and then make sure the Use System Colors option is unchecked.

That makes no difference. The only work-around I can see is to change
my system colors so that windows appear with a dark background. That
would screw up every other program that I use. Yours is the only help
system I have ever seen that uses a white font.

Can't you specify your text colours with standard system colour names
rather than absolute colours?

That way if they work for you they'll work for any other system setup
(assuming Microsoft have done their homework).

Really ?  It works fine here with Windows XP.  When Use System Colors is
unchecked, then the background color that we specified in the help file is
shown instead of the system colors.

It doesn't matter what we use for a color - the possibility always exists
that it will conflict with the system color settings.  That is why that
option in WinHelp is there.

Well, you can elect to not specify any background colors at all, which will
result in the system colors being used.  But we opted to make the background
colors match our manuals in all other formats - PDF, HTML, etc.

Okay, I found out the issue.  If you change the Window background color in
Windows to something other than the default, then it overrides our help file
colors and makes them always use the new color.

Is there any particular reason that you don't just use the default white
Window background color ?  The reason that I ask is that you seem to be
using something very close to white anyways.

I see what you mean. If I change my "Window text" background to white,
the problem doesn't occur. Odd that yours is the only help file I've
seen that exhibits this behavior.

Thanks for the thought, but I'll keep my setup the way I have it. I'll
just have to live with this oddity, like I live with all the other
oddities of that hodge-podge of features known as Windows.
