Thread SBS 2003 / Dbisam

Hello everyone:

I have just installed Dbisam server on a SBS 2003 server.
When I try to connect to the database remotely from my client application I
get error 11294.
If I try to connect to the database remotely with Dbsys it works fine.

I have previously been running the Dbisam Server on a Win 2000 server and
things worked just fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Petter

Hi Petter,

Error 11294 refers to "DBISAM_REMOTENODB (11294) - The database '<DatabaseName>' does not
exist on the database server at '<RemoteName>'"

This suggests the database does not exist on the server.
Are you using the same user account with the client application as you use with the
database system utility?
Also check that both programs are connecting to the same database server computer.

Hi Stu,

Both applications use exactly the same login, and there is only one server
running in my network (same ip adress / servername).
I have talked to our network guy, and there is no firewall protection in our
local network, although  we use ISA Server, and one network adapter for
localnet and another for internet access (the last one with firewall
protection).
But if this were some kind of firewall issue, I can't figure out why Dbsys
get access....

Thanks
Petter

Something must be different with respect to the the incoming connection for
the above to be true.   As Stuart indicated, either the user name is
different or you're connecting to a different IP address.

Well, I'm a bit (actually very) embarrased - You are both correct of course.
When I configurated the database on the new server, the databasename was
changed.

In my application I still used the old databasename.

Regards
Petter

No problem, we all sometimes miss the obvious thing.  ;o)
