Hi,

One of our users reported that they installed DBISAM server as service
("Allow service to interact with desktop" disabled)

and every time when user log off from server, DBISAM server become
unreachable. When they log on they find that server throw error

     " unable to create main.log ".

Maybe someone has idea what could be wrong?

Regards,
Tomas

If you are sure that "Allow service to interact with desktop" is disabled
then check if the database configuration points to UNC names instead of
drive and folder names.
Use \\server\share instead of F:\DATA

Another tip is if your data is located in another machine add
username/password at service manager.

It is really weird.

Where is the database server .EXE (dbsrvr.exe) located ?  If it is located
on a network drive, then you need to set up the service to run under a
different account than the Local System Account, or make sure that the Local
System Account has rights to the network drive.  By default, the Local
System Account only has access to the local drive.

Also, you need to make sure that the network services are all loaded
*before* the database server by using the information in this document:

I just had virtual meeting with user and noticed that he was running two
instances of DBISAM server - as service and application.
That was the problem, I have removed application version and now everything
works fine.
