Has anyone done this ?
Most hosts run for cover
when u want a socket
server. The guys who
offer MySql boasting unlimited databases will
not even open a socket your app must be on
their server connecting to their MySql.
My killer app is nearly ready and I cant find
a server to host it ;-(
I could go colo or dedicated server route but
comeon things r cheap these days.

We've gone the Virtual Private Server route with PowerVPS (www.powervps.com)
and have been very happy so far with both the reliability and performance.
Under their Windows VPS plan, we're able to set up as many socket servers as
we wish.
