Hi there,

We have an application at a client site with around 20 people in most of the
day.  We get about 2-3 of these errors a day.  The workstations are all XP
Pro SP3 and the server is 2008 SBS.  They happen in 3 different areas of the
application, seemingly never anywhere else.  We can't reproduce the error in
our office.

We are using DBISAM v4.27 Build1 and Delphi 7

We get the following error from Eurekalog:
DBISAM Engine Error # 11279 An unknown error ('DBISAM Engine Error # 11279
An unknown error ('Access violation at address 00518794 in module
'dbsrvr.exe'. Read of address 00000025') occurred with the connection to the
database server at '192.168.1.5', please check the server log') .

The Server log shows:
18/06/2010 11:08:33 AM [ERROR] Engine error [Access violation at address
00518794 in module 'dbsrvr.exe'. Read of address 00000025] [Client Version:
4.27 User Name: R2K_User Address: 192.168.1.75 Encrypted: No Request:
REQUEST_GETNEXTRECORD Thread: 37544 Session: 430279216]

Any ideas welcome on tracking this down.

Thanks and regards,
Bruce.

This is not directly helpful but any chance you could upgrade to a newer DBISAM to see if issue has been resolved - 4.27 is fairly old.

4.29 includes several fixes for AV issues in the DBISAM Database Server.
Most of them revolved around the remvoal of dead sessions.  If you can email
me the server log from your server (retrieve using the Server Administration
Utility and save as a text file), I can tell you if it is likely that the
issue that you're seeing has been fixed in 4.29.
