Malcolm ElasticForm handles most things (including DBGrids), wirks in D2006 and is $50. TMS components are the only things its let me down on so far. So far I have not managed to work out how to install it when it has only the .dcu, .dcr and a register.pas file. I am using Turbo Delphi Pro (D10). I suspect I need the source version .. or am I just blind/ignorant? -- |

The good news is Claudia is still there and I've received a workround for the problem with the TMS DBgrid (I've posted it on the TMS ngs). Roy Lambert |

Unfortunately you're right. I do have the source, and I use D2006 so if you want to email me a test project (I do NOT have DevEx but do have TMS components) I'll be happy to compile it for you and send it back. Roy Lambert |

"Malcolm" | Hi Roy
Thanks for the offer. In the circumstances I think I will just stick with my existing code. It is not really all that hard for the small number of forms I need to 'expand'. I found EasySize had a few limitions - probably WAD but not as I wanted. Malcolm |

"Trev" | Hi Roy,
I am surprised anyone still uses such tools. I used to use ElasticForm years ago before windows included their accessability options with large fonts etc. It may be that redesigning your forms would be a more 'standard' approach these days. Incidently, we often had issues with ElasticForm at the time. Sometimes controls would disappear from one pc and not others. I wondered if it was due to different video cards. Either way, those are tricky issues to resolve while keeping a happy customer. In the end ElasticForm had to go. The reason I started to use ElasticForm is simple. I designed at 640x480 and wanted people to maximise on their 600x800 posh PCs. Same reason still applies today (with different numbers). Roy Lambert ps The only components I ever had disappear were due to old version of some bit of M$ software on W95 pcs when I was developing on W98. |
