Based upon recommendations in this NG, I'm using AVG with
good success and little problems.  It is relatively transparent
(hope that means that it still works tho' Smile)

Hi Scott,

I haven't heard of SpySweeper but I use AVG and 4 different anti-spyware
apps, but occasionally I get spyware that none of them detect, including
the spyware I mentioned previously.  The worst thing was this particular
spyware was collecting credit card information, bank account details and
passwords.  It was trying to send this information to a server somewhere
but the software firewall was blocking it.  I know what you mean about
the 100% CPU usage though.  ZoneAlarm was doing this for ages but has
finally settled down now with the later releases.  It was getting very
frustrating for a while.
