Thread Comments and suggestions for IDE enhancements

I'm already using GExperts and CnPack.  I was one of the first Castalia
registered users but with every release he kept raising the price and he
instituted separate pricing for each version so I stopped upgrading.

Any other IDE enhancements or replacement editors you suggest?

David,

with Delphi5 I used CodeRush and was able to do a lot of things that
Castalia is not able to do.
Furthermore Jacob Thurman doesn't see to be interested very much in any
enhancements or bug fixes. (He should learn from Tim Smile

Now I switched to Delphi2007 and HAD to buy Castalia.

I don't think that there are any more big and really interesting IDE
enhancements, but I have two "helpers" that I don't want to miss:

1. Logitech G15 keyboard with 3x18 programmable keys (makros included)
2. Autohotkey, see: http://www.autohotkey.com

Regards Uli

Had to?  With Delphi 2006/2007 and GExperts, I no longer need Castalia
or CodeRush.  Delphi's templates along with great features in GExperts
leave little else to be desired.

The only things I miss are:
 * stack-based bookmarks
 * Ctrl+Insert to select and copy a whole word at once

CodeRush was always too buggy and I found Castalia to be too much of a
resource hog (and all I had was the free one that came with BDS 2006).

For me, learning the powerful template capabilities built into Delphi,
using the 10 bookmark hot-keys, and remembering a few old WordStar
Ctrl-key combinations keeps me editing very efficiently.

(And there's a lot of functionality in GExperts that people don't know
about.)

Hi,

How about ModelMaker Code Explorer. Together with GExperts I find I have a
good IDE in D2007.

Check it out on
