Thread $5 for Bug Tracking/Software Project Management Software.

Steve Gill
Check this out.  Want an application for bug tracking/software project
management?  Axosoft are selling a 5 user version of OnTime for just
$5.  It normally retails at $495!  Apparently this is a part of a
"social marketing experiment".

I can't vouch for how good it is but the price is definitely right.
Here's the link:

I think the offer expires on Friday so I wouldn't leave it too long.
I have mine already. Smile

Regards,

SteveG

PS I have no affiliation with Axosoft, except that I just bought a
licence for $5.  Smile

Steve,

What they hey... for $5, I'm willing to throw it to the wind, even if just
out of curiosity. Smile

Thanks for the link!

Cheers

Adam.

I didn't think OnTime was too bad, I just didn't like having to run SQL
server to use it. They always gave away a single-user license and that is
what I got. I had to reinstall my computer one day and realized afterward
that the data for the program was not in a "normal" location, so I lost all
my week-long trial entries.

I am now considering Request & Response by Sendero Software, the makers of
the fine "DBiDesktop for DBISAM".

The plus side for R&R is that it uses DBISAM, and can do client/server as
well. I just like the idea of being able to use it without running a server.

All I can say about Sendero Software is that the support I have received for
DBiDesktop is along the same lines as the superb support Elevatesoft gives
DBISAM.

Oh, I didn't realise I had to run SQL server. May have just done my $5 in.
;-(

Oh well... at least it's going to a good cause.  Smiley

They can use MSDE or the full blown MS-SQL product. Either way, I didn't
like having to run the server for my single-user configuration.

For less than $5 ...  Track+ is free for less than 10 users and is working well for my colleague and I.  We operate two separate home offices and as Track+ is web based it is ideal for us.  My main development machine runs a Apache Tomcat server and I have a dynamic IP, tracked by http://www.dyndns.com.  IIRC there is a choice of DB servers - not including DBISAM tho Frown

Cheers

Hi Jonnie,

I'm in the same boat - single user configuration. The only engine I've got
on my machine at the moment is the BDE, for legacy apps, and I'll be glad
when I can blow that away. (Oh, and a couple of ODBC drivers).

I've just reformatted my machine, which took a lot of resetting up, and I've
just got it nice and clean how I want it. I don't want to go junking it up
with too much other stuff again.
