That makes me think of the issue of the "united" states. How long and how many conflicts did it take before they were as united as they are? Do we have to do the same Roy Lambert |

Man, this thread was extremely interesting. Being knowledgably or just dogmatic is for me a blur. In this thread,I learnt allot from you folks across the pond. But the real point of all of this is that "Roy is World Famous" Lets not lose sight of that. Even we, as a family of nations, can come together in the spirit of detent and celebrate that accomplishment. A lone voice in the Great White North yooodoolaaaayyyeeeehoooo!!! Allan "R. It all goes dark when the train goes through a tunnel. In the dark there's the sound of an almighty slap, and when the train emerges from the tunnel the Frenchman is rubbing his face, and there's a huge redmark on his cheek. The old lady thinks "I bet that Frenchman fondled the blonde in the dark and she slapped him" The pretty young blonde thinks " I bet the Frenchman tried to fondle me in the dark, got the old lady by mistake, and she hit him" The Frenchman thinks "I bet that Englishman fondled the blonde in the dark, but the blonde thought it was me and hit me" The Englishman thinks "I hope there's another tunnel coming up soon so I can slap that French tw@t again" |

Michael Baytalsky | >> If this is what "peace >> and democracy" means, then keep it off of me - I'd rather live under >> happy dictatorship > I hope you receive your wish. > For 2 weeks. Care to explain? I was born in USSR and lived there till it collapsed for 18 years. 2 weeks will hardly change anything for me . Also, last 15 years of "democracy" brought about more trouble and killed thus or another more people then previous 30 years of socialism. I still like freedom, but it's just like driving car versus taking a bus. We all like to drive (most of us, anyway), but if you're not a good driver you'd be better of taking a bus. Same true for many of the newborn democracies - unless you have a developed civil society, you will be much better of with autocraty. Learning to drive a car on a highway could be very dangerous and expensive - and it was and is for us ;(. > BTW, 'happy' and 'dictatorship' are never used together. I think you missed that sign Michael |
