It sure does, but I'm getting spoiled with refactoring, help inside
and docked designer/paletter very easily Wink I'm actually beginning to
like it in docked view - once you customize it properly and unpin
some of the unnecessary dockers, so they hide themselves, it
really works nice. Plenty of space, easy to access tool paletter
(Alt+Ctrl+P, they could've made better shortcut, though).
I'm yet to test it some more as far as compiler concerned and if
its true, that the compiler has improved as much as they promised,
I might switch some of my newer projects to it.
I really dislike the new help, though... Even after you find the
topic, it's kind of hard to read... I also hate those blue round
dots in form designer - why did they have to fix what's not broken
- I didn't ask them to try and cheer me up.

Actually, I was going to start applying guilt/pressure for you to do so,
just to make me feel better about doing so. In light of Borland's
divestment announcement, I'm glad I did. My first choice was to find D7
but this just isn't (legally) possible anymore. I doubt that BDS2006 is
"Best fo Breed," but to me it's insurance in case it's "Last of Breed." As
Oly said a few years ago, "I fear I may be coding C# in my old age." At
least with BDS I don't have to pay for the platform to learn on.

My beloved D5 was released before win2000, and I need to ensure I have the
capabilities I need to proceed onward. It keeps my options open. D5 is now
a seven-year-old compiler. D2006 really isn't that bad, and I had no
install problems, but I think you want to have a fairly beefy machine to
keep it happy, as there is much overhead compared to D5-D7.

Michael,

I'm also beginning to like it (once I get over the
"where do I find it" problems.  I'm happy to have
upgraded (even tho' it may be my last).

Don't like the help... it's a uSoft thing that Borland seemed to
think they had to adopt?

That could explain a lot - especially with the ease with which the main menu disappears!
