Tim Young [Elevate Software] Elevate Software, Inc. timyoung@elevatesoft.com | Matthew,
<< There's a case on the web where someone objected to the planning permission of a neighbour, and the council didn't get his objection until after permission was granted and he emailed without the word "erection" in the email. Single word filtering can be very dangerous unless you use weights (I used to sell a spam filter - used DBISAM as it happens) and customers were always getting caught on single words losing their mail. >> I understand, but I can pretty much guarantee that not one single person has ever sent us a legitimate email with the word "erection" in the Subject header. It's just the nature of our business - if we were in the construction (or porn) business, we couldn't get away with that. In addition, our mail server's error response indicates the reason for the rejection, so at least the end user has an idea of why we rejected the email. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |
