Thread ARGH... BDS 2006 Nighttmare!

The cut and paste errors I posted about today are actually much worse.

Something has happened to my BDS 2006 that causes access errors in
htmltidy100.bpl or htmide100.bpl. The latest... if the code editing
window is opened the edit menu will not work because it causes an access
error in htmltidy100.bpl.

I can find nothing about this in the newsgroups or google. Anyone seen
this or have an idea? I'd hate to have to reinstall, but I might not
have a choice.

Thanks,

Sean

On a whim I renamed htmltidy100.bpl to htmltidy_99.bpl and htmide100.bpl
to htmide_99.bpl so they would appear to be missing.

I get a startup error that it can't find the htmltidy100 package, but it
continues fine & everything seems to work again. Apparently the
htmide100 package is only used by htmtidy100 since there were no errors
about it missing.

I am completely baffled as to why this suddenly came up, but for now
everything seems fine.

If anyone knows more about what these packages do and why they would
suddenly cause problems, please let me know.

Thanks,

Sean

Sean,

I don't know anything about them but the
date time stamp on mine
   2005-11-14 13:00:00
If that will help you see if there's a change

Same date, 11:00 am

I don't know if the displayed dates are time zone sensitive (my guess
would be yes). I am east coast US.

So far a day of programming and no issues from removing the package.

Would my copies of the files be helpful?
I'm pretty sure that would not break any rules.

Sean,

Did a little Googling and come up with three links of interest. The third
seems to indicate that you can remove the file without apparent problems. It
is apparently a plugin for the Tiny HTML Formatter and there appears to be a
SouceForge project for it now.

Thanks! Very helpful. I've bookmarked that last link for future reference.

Sean McCall
Jon,

It would be great if you could email the two files so I would know if it
is something in the OS causing problems or if these files somehow got
corrupted.
