All in all, it's the better product: faster, more stable, more reliable. And
with all the snapshot/clining functionality, VMWare gives you way more
degrees of freedom.

VMWare has free versions, too.  You just don't get snapshots and versioning
unless you pay for their Workstation product.  Virtual PC doesn't have those
either, so I think the free version of VMWare may have just as many features
as Virtual PC, or more.

MS's free one does not support USB ports.

Since I test things with dongles, etc, that is... well....  kinda important.

I've worked a little with VPC.  And a lot with VMWare.  To be honest... for
$199... its an awsome tool.  They just released V6.0 which has dual monitor,
USB 2.0, multiple processors, etc etc.

Well Lance,

You guys won me over. I trialled VM6, and went and paid the $199 (even
though I'd been using the 'free' Virtual PC from Microsoft).

Still getting used to it, but must say it does seem to have quite a number
of benefits (including the fact that it actually runs Linux properly!)

The only problem I have is that I've got a 2.0Ghz (single core) laptop with
1GB of Ram. Not sure how having a Virtual Machine with XP and Delphi will
run under those conditions, or whether I should be sourcing another
notebook.
