Yup I can see it now. Interesting approach. I used to do it something like this with Paradox and early days of DBISAM. I switched to stuffing the info into a memo field after TEXTSEARCH arrived mainly because I have 3 of these tables (skills, attributes, hobbies) and it makes deleting an individual much easier. There is, in the attachments around here, a full implementation of a
TIniFile which uses a DBISAM database table instead. It allows the name/value operation, but also an application ID IIRC. It was posted after I asked about this, and it has worked well. I think I added a few more types and linked it to my database location code, but the core is all there and very workable. /Matthew Jones/ |
