As Sean said, there is a structure tree view. I never used the Object tree view in D7 but I like this one. It allows me to select pages on a page control that don't have the tabs visible and navigation groups in the DevExpress NavBar without changing the ActiveGroupIndex. Another Plus. Bill |

Believe me or not, D5 is what my customers demand - if they care about the version. The rest does not ask. I paid for the upgrade to D6, then for Kylix 1 and 2, and I could have spent my money more wiseley. Now, I will upgrade when I really have to, and not one moment earlier. Heck, maybe I have to wait until D2008 With an unbelieveable pack of DVDs from Mircosoft for almost no money, including VS2005, I can start with .Net when there is demand, and upgrade to the according delphi version when I signed a contract. Menu - Options - VCL Designer - Embedded Designer It's more like D7 with every option I disable. Craig Delphi Source Code for Accounting Systems www.ledgeraccounting.com |

"Lance R." | Roy,
I use a lot of 3rd party comps and stuff. Some go way back to D3 days that have gone away. I've had to go in and tweak the code with some of the comps and with some, properly break down into separate run time and design time packages to be "proper" as well as deal with Proxies hell. BDS-2006 has worked great for me. Installed without issue. Some of the tips presented definitely help with performance. Being able to run a personality (I.E. I do .NET 2.0 stuff, so I can't use C#'s personality and our Delphi.NET stuff is limited, and we don't really need C++) is a great thing and shortens startup time. Component Palette versus "Tool Palette"... I still prefer old way, but I can deal with it. The code completion, refactoring and other code style improvements are awesome. Some of the new features in the Language are great. They've commendably done a lot of very good things for the pure Delphi Win apps for stability and features, which is great. Apparently, for BDS-2006, the developers were allowed actual time to spend on bug fixes and such opposed to crank it out and fix in next paid version. My only very vocal complaint is that Borland was nuts for releasing BDS-2006 without .NET 2.0 support. Granted, that would have (maybee) delayed the release, but that's the only thing I'm upset about is that I'm going to have to buy BDS-2007 if I want .NET 2.0. The VCL side, I don't think is going to be much different than BDS-2006. Lance Roy Lambert wrote: > Sean > > > How are you getting on with D2006 now?
