Hiding the password to the password |

Roy Lambert NLH Associates Team Elevate | Now (with much help) that I have got Tim's blowfish encryption working I'll be creating a key to the app that will contain (amongst other stuff) the allowed number of simultaneous users and the encryption key to some of the tables (I'm only going to encrypt tables with personal data) I need a place to hold the password used to encrypt/decrypt this information.
Where do you suggest, in the program files, that it is hidden? Roy Lambert |

Jon Lloyd Duerdoth | Roy,
I've done this by creating 1 or more obscure functions that "assemble" the password by some method that is inherently not obvious. The result is that the password does not exist until these functions are called in the correct sequence. I doubt that it's perfect or infallible but it's adequate for my apps. Jon Lloyd Duerdoth | I also had thought about hiding it inside a jpg image...
but it had seen interesting but unnecessary. Roy Lambert wrote: > Jon > > > Thanks for that - its what I was thinking of doing until I had a brainwave. Its now hidden in a really nifty place. > > Roy Lambert > |
