Now (with much help) that I have got Tim's blowfish encryption working I'll be creating a key to the app that will contain (amongst other stuff) the allowed number of simultaneous users and the encryption key to some of the tables (I'm only going to encrypt tables with personal data) I need a place to hold the password used to encrypt/decrypt this information.

Where do you suggest, in the program files, that it is hidden?

Roy,

I've done this by creating 1 or more obscure functions that
"assemble" the password by some method that is inherently not
obvious. The result is that the password does not exist until these
functions are called in the correct sequence.  I doubt
that it's perfect or infallible but it's adequate for my apps.

I also had thought about hiding it inside a jpg image...
but it had seen interesting but unnecessary.
