Lance Rasmussen Jazzie Software Team Elevate | Rita,
Are you developing under VM? I use Vista X64 as my primary OS, but use a VM with XP Pro for my dev work. This lets my primary have 4-8 gigs of RAM, which 32 bit will only allow about 3.2 gigs. I have a seperate VM box that runs XP 64 and various Linux it has 8gigs I never even thought about XP 32bit getting them extra gigs for Delphi via 64bit mmmmmmmmmmm I'am busy fixing stuff right now so will look into that later. Ok now Sata and Win XP 64 2 new drives installing viaraid u would think easy peasy right ? all u need is a floppy because of the F6 key request installing the OS. Then the penny drops and the only working floppy in the house is installed on the machine I intend to install the OS on. So I ordered a USB FDD it came next day, I plugged it into this laptop I'am working from now, WinXP pro USB 2.0 found it and named it but no drivers in XP thinks I with service pack 3,,, whats goin on it will not work. I ran my Vista laptop and it worked in that, the 1st positive under Vista for me. So I have set about pluggin other stuff into the 1st one USB 2.0 sees it all????? except the USB FDD Back to crawlin around under desk now trying this and that. Rita |

David | After spending about 20 minutes tweaking, my XP development box sees 3.5 of
my 4 Gigs of RAM. Lance Rasmussen Jazzie Software Team Elevate | Basically, if you set up your primary OS as Vista X64 (which will have a
good logical upgrade path to Windows 7, where XP will not), then basically keep it "dumb" to keep it minimal. Then put your marbles in the VM, either as XPx64 or XPx32 and install your IDE and other stuff. I keep a seperate VM per IDE myself.
