Thinking about starting a DBISAM/ElevateDB hosting service |

david | Looking for opinions on the pricing.
1) Internet access to a DBISAM server 2) Internet access to a VM running XP Pro for as many DBISAM servers and any other internet related services needed. 3) Internet access to a ElevateDB server 4) Internet access to a VM running XP Pro for as many ELevate servers and any other internet related services needed. Bandwidth wouldn't be an issue at first. Individual IP addresses for each account. Just wondering what others have charged for just the server functionality and I'm wondering how much more people would be willing to pay for access to the whole XP environment to run web apps and other needed tidbits as well. Your thoughts? |

"Rita" | I'am in the middle of doing that got the premises got
the racks and boxes the cissco kid my partner went and got a good job. I have noticed however that the guys who did do Firebird and DBisam hosting + IW hosting socket servers and so on dont last very long. I figured out that the big boys with volume license deals from M$ have an advantage. VPS is the way to go however. Prices well some say you get this some say you get that and its all BS someone has to pay for the bandwith so be careful. Check out these http://www.a2b2.com/hosting/vps I notice the lowest price plan does 2 ip's and 400gb pm Its the one I have for testing stuff. Would you be able to compete with that price ? I got in on the ground floor and never go over my bandwith and I pay £90 + vat pa what would a remote colo cost. I would have to buy the server. Say £800 inc VAT The OS. Win 2003 Standard £631.64 inc VAT Then the rack rent around £25 pm x 12 = £300 Total Setup cost 1st year £1,700 + Best buy some bluestock now while the markets are weak and watch the £1700 grow without the hassle.
