Lance Rasmussen Jazzie Software Team Elevate | Tim,
noticed some of the changes in the website. I like the look of the products page with the screenshots. This looks very nice and professional. I also like the idea of the technical articles, such as what is on the front page. Those look great, especially with screen shots. I think this will help give further credo to Elevate, especially with more promotion towards the VS side of things. They're use to eye candy with products that don't work as well as their website... lol. Throwing a critical eye from the peanut gallery..... When looking at a home page, such as Codegear, DevExpress, etc etc, I question how the tech article is used on the home page. When I go to those pages, I assuming I'm going to see the "Marketing Guys" at work until I go to the support type areas, where the technical goodies are. Maybee by taking a subset of how you layed out the product page and put on the front, then maybee an area on the home page showing Latest Tech Articles, with maybe a brief description and link to the article, would be better? Also (the CIS university instructor side of me talking) regarding the W3C validators. I like using those and encourage their use. I would, however, when you get some free time (I know... what's that), to change the HTML 4.01 to XHTML 1.0 Transitional at minimum and use that to tweak your HTML. Most of the errors are petty and simple, but speaking from experience, it's always fun to get those pages in compliance. I actually push it to XHTML 1.1 Strict, but I'm a glutton for punishment and at worse, if I "give up", I can then set it back to 1.0 Transitional and it should comply. Lance |

I'm not getting involved on any discussion about web standards or code but I like Tim leading with a technical article, especially as he gets a bit of time to change it to whatever is flavour of the month. I can see and click on any of the normal buttons but this opening page tells me this is a serious technical product rather than a bit of vapourware and hints at the level of support that will be available. << noticed some of the changes in the website. I like the look of the products page with the screenshots. This looks very nice and professional. >> Yeah, I've been working on trying to get this in place for some time because a picture is definitely worth a thousand words, and I know that screen shots are always one of the first things I look for when I'm looking at a new product. << I also like the idea of the technical articles, such as what is on the front page. Sam sent out emails soliciting customer profiles, and I'm working on getting some on the site now. We're always looking for new customer profiles, however. The more, the better. << I would, however, when you get some free time (I know... what's that), to change the HTML 4.01 to XHTML 1.0 Transitional at minimum and use that to tweak your HTML. >> I'll see what I can do. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

I'll have to bring that up in some examples at a university course I'm teaching in the fall as quality DB alternatives. Lance |

<< Sold out to the devil eh! did that cost us Linux version's in future ? >> Not at all. Actually, I was thinking about the FreePascal version today for EDB. << Not that at this moment am I doing any Linux but Embarcadero may ressurect Kylix and I vision Kylix Mac/Solwise/BSD/Young and even more >> Nothing would make me happier than being able to sell to Mac and Linux developers using standard Delphi IDEs on those platforms.
