I hardly ever do much of anything on Saturday nights. 11:00 PM EST would be 8:00 PM PST, I'm usually doing EDB stuff after 9:00 PM PST, so there shouldn't ever be an issue. I'll keep more thorough notes of when this happens. -- David Cornelius CorneliusConcepts.com |

I did a tracert and it's going through San Mateo, CA, then Michigan and on to NY. It's probably on one of the hops across the country. Sometimes, when I restart the page, it's suddenly fast. Perhaps it's picked a different route. -- David Cornelius CorneliusConcepts.com |

"Greg Bishop" | David:
I'm in California, but also on FiOS at home where most of my development work is done. Perhaps there is a connection there - either FiOS or somehow a west coast issue. For what it's worth, I was at a training session at a university about 60 miles from home yesterday and loaded the elevatesoft.com home page very quickly. Greg |

Roy Lambert NLH Associates Team Elevate | Just downloading the latest ElevateDB I have spotted this:
I need the utilities, D2006 & D6 versions so I try and get all the downloads running. The website effectively freezes after I have the first two going and nothing happens (ie I cna't navigate round the website) until one has completed. Roy Lambert |

"Raul" | It could be your browser. IE/Firefox by default limits number of concurrent
downloads to any singl site to 2 (and browsing counts as download as it really just retrieves the files). IE - see more here : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/282402 Firefox steps goto: about:config check "network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server" setting Raul "Roy Lambert" <roy.lambert@skynet.co.uk> wrote in message news:6A2FA9ED-7E81-424D-A2F3-11AFE9C0C984@news.elevatesoft.com... > Just downloading the latest ElevateDB I have spotted this: > > > I need the utilities, D2006 & D6 versions so I try and get all the > downloads running. Fernando Dias Team Elevate | Raul,

Unless you are using Firefox 3, where the limit is 6 as I just discovered downloading EDB . -- Fernando Dias [Team Elevate] |

"Raul" | Same here - both Firefox 2.x and 3.x work OK.
Couple of suggestions: 1. Does your firefox work for other sites? 2. Disable any Firefix add-ons you're running and try without them 3. Is your AntiVirus/Firewall scanning and protecting web connections (e.g. using local proxy or such) - it might interfere. Sometimes these programs auto-configure the IE settings but don't do anything for Firefix and other browsers. Markus | Hello Greg,
I am also experiencing slow page loads when accessing www.elevatesoft.com. In my case, I found out that this is an issue with the Kaspersky Anti-Virus Software. It checks png files and he needs 2 minutes to check replicationintro.png and as long to check the other png files. If I switch Kaspersky Anti-Virus off, there are no problems with the web site. Best wishes, Markus "Greg Bishop" <bishop@porpoisemedia.com> wrote: I tend to use the online reference materials from www.elevatesoft.com quite a bit lately. I've noticed that the www.elevatesoft.com web site can be slow to load (sometimes on the order of several minutes for a web page to load). As a side note, when I download a version update of ElevateDB, I get the slow page loads, but the download of the product itself is quite fast. This has been occurring for several months now and it seems to occur more at night (Pacific Standard Time Zone here) but sometimes occurs during the day as well. I e-mailed Tim privately and he indicated that he is unable to directly test this since he has local access to his web server and that it is always fast for him. He suggested asking here in the newsgroups to see if anyone else is experiencing the slow page loads. So ... is anyone else also experiencing slow page loads when accessing www.elevatesoft.com? Thanks. |
