Thread Anyone use LMD Tools?

I'm still using Opaque Software's Venus pack for persistent storage.  You
know, save values and preferences in the registry that are reloaded when the
app starts back up.  Opaque has gone for a long time.  I'm looking at LMD's
StoragePack.  Does anyone own any of their products and any problems or
comments about their products?

Also, any other recommendations for persistent storage?  Other components
maybe?

Thanks,
David

David,

The Jedi VCL package have some good componentes for that (registry, ini,
xml), and it's open source.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/jvcl

Best regards.

Thanks for the reply.

I installed Jedi a year or so ago and it was just way too much.  I would
love if they also provided individual installers for each group of
components.

Hi,

We're using number of other LMD controls (have not used StoragePack) and are
happy with them - controls work well and few times we have had questions the
replies have been very prompt and if needed new build is released quickly
also.

In terms of persistent storage - we're still using INI files in one of the
products - it works well so why change it.

Well, I don't like the way LMD shows the items in the component.  For some
reason, they list them in order of creation
http://www.lmdinnovative.com/products/vcl/lmdstoragepack/screenshots/LMDStor
agePack2.jpg so there isn't any sorting, searching, nor is there any way to
find a specific component easily.  Simply scroll through until it finally
show up.  Not good and honestly, I can't believe no one has changed it.

Still, I really have to get away from my 10 year old component so I go to
order the StoragePack.  $59 isn't too bad for a single solution component.
Nope, not 59 dollars, 59 euros so the component is actually $102.

No thanks.
