"Rita" | No my server has not hit the bottle. I was
wondering has anyone tried a Linux server running Wine to run socket servers such as Elevates products ? Phewwwwwwwwwwww Santa may bring me a 1u server with a 12 month Colo-cation subscription all paid up. The biggest outlay will be on the OS if I go the windows route, SuSe server is free as is Ubuntu. "Adam H." | Hi Rita,

I was > wondering has anyone tried a Linux server > running Wine to run socket servers such > as Elevates products ? > Phewwwwwwwwwwww Just curious - why use Wine? (I mean, why not use the native linux DBISam server)? Or is that where the socket servers *such as* elevate's products come into it? > Santa may bring me a 1u server with a 12 > month Colo-cation subscription all paid up. > The biggest outlay will be on the OS if I go > the windows route, SuSe server is free as is > Ubuntu. I wish I still believed in Santa. Then maybe he would come and give me one of those too. ;-( Cheers Adam. |
