"Jose Eduardo Helminsky" | Hi everyone
Is that time to change from D? to RAD Studio ? It is stable ? I am planning to change from my Delphi6 SP2 (very stable) to RAD Studio. Or is it better to move to D2007 SP3 ? Thanks for any comments Eduardo |

Reading a lot of the posts on borland.public.delphi.ide newsgroup I think it depend on the day of the week you install and wether you mutter the right prayers when it asks if it should install NET. More seriously it probably depends on 3rd party tools and which bits of the ide you turn off. As a guess I'd say there are less complaints posted than there were about D2006 but why not browse the ng yourself. Roy Lambert |

"Hüseyin Aliz" | Hi Jose,
If i am not wrong, RAD studio = D2007 SP3 (Delphi 2007 R2). http://blogs.codegear.com/nickhodges/2007/09/14/38940 Regards, Hüseyin "Roy Lambert" <roy.lambert@skynet.co.uk> skrev i en meddelelse news:2C215BBA-A7EB-4355-A994-5CDF342134A9@news.elevatesoft.com... > Jose > > Reading a lot of the posts on borland.public.delphi.ide newsgroup I think > it depend on the day of the week you install and wether you mutter the > right prayers when it asks if it should install NET. > > More seriously it probably depends on 3rd party tools and which bits of > the ide you turn off. Steve Forbes Team Elevate | Hi Jose,
I am using the cut-down Delphi-only personality of RAD Studio (even though I have the full enterprise license because any .NET work I do is in MS Visual Studio). D2007 has been completely stable for me. -- Best regards Steve "Jose Eduardo Helminsky" <contato@hpro.com.br> wrote in message news:D3CDB1F0-82B8-45DC-98C6-F0CC3CCE36FA@news.elevatesoft.com... > Hi everyone > > Is that time to change from D? to RAD Studio ? 1> Americans dont speak English like us Brits and Aussies so call a licence a licence and not a license. 2> MS VS give us a break not you as well. I wondered where you had been, now I know you ship jumper 3>Dont take <1> so bad though because I speak like that all the time now. Its probaly because phone text and it is easier. Tim Young [Elevate Software] Elevate Software, Inc. timyoung@elevatesoft.com | Steve,
<< I see you still don't mince word Rita <BG> I still think Delphi is the best native 32-bit Windows development platform in the universe, but am a realist .. I hate to say it, but MS VS is better for anything .NET (and rocks for ASP.NET) >> Delphi.Net is pretty good, if you ask me. It certainly allows the easiest transition to .Net, and the IDE is certainly better (if you ignore some of the cosmetics that have been introduced since BDS). However, what CodeGear really needs to do is drop the RTL compatibility layer and do a pure object pascal .NET compiler like Chrome that can exist in the same IDE. I think most people, once they start looking down the pike at redistributing the VCL RTL assemblies, cut down their use of the VCL RTL anyways. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |
