"kevanB" | Hi
We're getting a lot of "10225 cannot read lock table X" from one users site (no others, even sites iwth more users and larger databases), its intermittant and is hard to track down why. Environment is Windows2003 SBS with WindowsXP sp2. dbisam 4.25 Delphi2005 Architect. Any pointers? The Server is upto date as is the Client machine (in terms of patches). Related issue is that the experience occassional "Delayed write fail", usually on query files (queries are currently being written to the server). cheers KevanB |

"kevanB" | Anti virus = AVG
The client machine has been replaced, so you suspect the server network card? "Roy Lambert" <roy.lambert@skynet.co.uk> wrote in message news:3481BE80-E3AF-410D-AD69-512B1F37A4CE@news.elevatesoft.com... > kevanB > > > Anti virus, or network card? > > Roy Lambert > |

Its just that if its working OK at other sites I'd look at where the differences are, and that's generally physical or some moron installing a "great game" I have even seen cases where its the hard disk getting ready to commit suicide. Roy Lambert |

"kevanB" | A few, annoyingly with larger datasets and worse specced servers...
Support guys do not like the "check the network card/hard disk drives" option for some reason KB "Tim Young [Elevate Software]" <timyoung@elevatesoft.com> wrote in message news:7B48253B-5C82-44B2-9F4D-56927BDC2D13@news.elevatesoft.com... > Kevan, > > << We're getting a lot of "10225 cannot read lock table X" from one users > site (no others, even sites iwth more users and larger databases), its > intermittant and is hard to track down why. << A few, annoyingly with larger datasets and worse specced servers... >> But none of these other SBS users are having issue ? << Support guys do not like the "check the network card/hard disk drives" option for some reason >> Also, I forgot to ask - are you using the database server or is this just file-sharing connections to the server ? If the latter, then the most likely cause is faulty or too slow network hardware. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

"kevanB" | We removed the server and the problem has "gone away", so its a
hardware/network issue file sharing was the setup btw. cheers KevanB "Tim Young [Elevate Software]" <timyoung@elevatesoft.com> wrote in message news:F821FD02-5FED-475D-8AA9-FEC2CCA06F54@news.elevatesoft.com... > Kevan, > > << A few, annoyingly with larger datasets and worse specced servers... >> > > But none of these other SBS users are having issue ? > > << Support guys do not like the "check the network card/hard disk drives" > option for some reason >> > > Also, I forgot to ask - are you using the database server or is this just > file-sharing connections to the server ?
