I've just tried setting a master-detail relationship using a compound index with a descending part of the index and the IDE chokes on it telling me there isn't an index for the field

Index is integer ; timestamp desc

It's a Borland compatibility thing.  You can't use descending indexes with
master-detail links.

Oh yes you can - at least if the first part is not descending and that's all you use Smiley

I know it *can* be done (Smiley, it's just that the standard index
functionality for dealing with linkages like this in the db.pas unit
specifically excludes descending indexes.
