Thread what version of DBISAM is an app built on

I have a couple of database applications built on some older version of DBISAM. I'm using
4.21 and cannot open tables of an older product. Is there any way to determine what
version I need to open and edit data in these older tables?

James,

You could:

a) send a sample table to Elevate support or post to the binaries group
and have them tell you what version it is

b) download the database system utility for each version and try to open
the table(s)

Download a current version of DBSYS (V4.x) and use the Utilities|Table
Version function.

At the risk of confusing the issue... you are sure they're DBISAM
tables? The extensions used were frequently the same as some other file
formats.

DBSYS should upgrade them so you can open them.

Mind you, I've only used that feature on the previous version and have
never tried upgrading tables that were several versions back... knowing
Tim it would probably work.

As Eryk indicated, download the DBSYS utility from here (if you don't
already have it):

http://www.elevatesoft.com/scripts/download.dll?action=downinfo&producttype=add&version=4

and use the Utilities/Table Version option to see what version the tables
are currently at (you can multi-select multiple tables to examine).  If they
aren't DBISAM tables, then it should also tell you that.
