Thread Damaged Backup Files
Wed, Mar 22 2006 1:07 PMPermanent Link

"Terry Swiers"
Hi,

I have a customer who sent me his backup and one of the files in the middle
throws a data decompression error and stops processing at that point.  They
will go back to the next earlier backup, so it's not a big problem, but it
does bring up a question.

Is if there is any way to clean up damaged DBISAM 4 backup files to remove
the damaged table or to allow processing to continue for the other undamaged
portions of the backup file.

How did the backup file become damaged ?  And the short answer is no, if
part of the backup is damaged, then most likely the rest is garbage.  You
can send me the backup and I can take a look to make sure, however.

Did you send us an email about this ?  I don't have anything outstanding
that hasn't been answered, and I don't remember receiving anything regarding
this from you.
