Error #11276 - why? |

"Thomas Eg Jørgensen" | Hi,
We use DBISAM v. 3.26 in a setup were about 200-300 users connect to a main server each night to upload information... But sometimes the user gets the error: "DBISAM Engine Error # 11276 The connection to the database server at '[servername]' has been lost" This causes our entire datatransfer to abort...sometimes it is the same user each and every night... My question is how do i handle the exception? I've searched the support pages and amoung others I found: http://www.elevatesoft.com/scripts/newsgrp.dll?action=searchopenmsg&group=5&msg=23246&keywords=11276*#msg23246 which indicates that I should ignore the exception and keep going...? Does the error mean what it says("all hope is gone") or is it just telling me that "there WERE a problem and everything is fine now"? It seems like the error occurs at random...i cant find any logic pattern... Looking forward to hear from you...thanks! Best Regards Thomas Eg Joergensen |

<< Does the error mean what it says("all hope is gone") or is it just telling me that "there WERE a problem and everything is fine now"? >> It simply means that DBISAM cannot send/receive using the current connection, so it tried to reconnect to the database server and it still failed. You can keep retrying, but it if you get the problem more than once, it means that there has been a physical interruption in the connection and it may not be recoverable. Also, what is the max # of connections setting on the server ? You want to make sure that it is high enough to support the number of concurrent connections that you expect. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |
