Tim Young [Elevate Software] Elevate Software, Inc. timyoung@elevatesoft.com | Dave,
<< I do not recall an improper shutdown of the computer. For about 15 minutes, I was using the tables (DBISAM C/S) either via my pgm or DBSYS, via XP Remote Assistance. The tables had just been verified minutes 15 minutes before. The user data was not corrupted. >> I'm not sure what to tell you at this point. We don't have any reports of such a problem, nor have we had any since 4.06 and earlier with the issues that I described. Usually problems such as this that are actually the fault of DBISAM and not due to an external cause are reported by multiple customers, and we use the multiple problems to zero in on the cause. My suggestion for now would be to keep an eye on that installation and try to get as much information as possible as to what is occurring there. Also, do you have the database server log that you could email me ? If the database server hasn't been shut down or restarted at all, then the log should be intact and show a start date prior to the corruption. Plus it should show whether any of the clients are getting any errors at all due to the corruption. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |
