Thread Modifying existing table structure

Hi,
I've come from using NexusDB and am just starting to use DBISAM. I
created a test table using the dbsys utility and now find that I would
like to add some extra fields - I expected that by restructuring the
table I could do so but restructuring seems to allow only modification
of existing fields.
Is this possible with dbsys or do I need to do it some other way?
Thanks,
Steve

You can add field to an existing table using dbsys.  (In version 3.30) Just go to the end of the grid that shows the fields and use the down arrow key to add a new line to the grid.  You can move this up to where you want it using the arrow buttons at the side of the grid.

Cheers

Jeff

P.S.  The usual question is "how do I delete a field?" - to which the answer is <Ctrl>+<Delete>. J.

Jeff,

I'm using v4.24 of dbSys. When I open a table using Utilities - Alter
table - Structure tab, all I see is a single row representing my single
field in the table. Clicking the up/down arrows on the left doesn't do
anything,
Thanks,
Steve

Tell me about it Smiley I figured out ctrl-del quick enough tried ctrl-ins but that did nothing and resigned myself for years to adding at the bottom and moving the new field. Then some bright spark (probably Tim) posted use insert........
