I've read some threads about RemoteCompression and perform some tests to see if it helps or not and saw some signficant improvements. RemoteCompression = 0 x RemoteCompression = 6 When I use 6 (compressed) I run the same query 20 times and after that I run the same query 20 times again. Then I close the app and restart with no compression and then the compression version. Every time I take a note of ExecutionTime. My doubt: My tests show me the compression speed up the app but I want to hear you about it. Is there any situation that it is not true ? I will apreciate any comments about it (from users that is already using RemoteCompression). Eduardo |

Yes: when transporting the data is faster than compressing and uncompressing them. On a GBit line, I would not use compression. Better to use the CPU cycles to run the statements even faster. Ralf |

If you want to tell me that I am babbling and should try to express myself more clearly - you are right Ralf |
