I just tried implementing a BeforeUpdateTrigger event and it doesn't fire.
Is there something I need to do besides just dropping an engine component on
my DataModule and defining the event?  D7/4.19

Local access or C/S? For C/S, you have to set the event in the db server.

As Ralf asked, is this C/S or local access only ?  If it is C/S, then the
trigger needs to be defined in the database server itself.  You can find the
source code to the database server in the \servers\dbsrvr subdirectory under
the main installation directory of DBISAM.
