Thread connection with database

Hi,

I encountered a weird problem:

( first the software and hardware details)
2 pc's : "server"  and "workstation" (ws)
both: XP
peer-to-peer network
dbisam 4.24 build 1

the problem:

on the ws I can see the server pc, the map with our application anth the
data map within in with the dbisam files.
I even can open a dbisam.dat file with notebook (and I was very careful not
to write in it this way)
with our application I'll get a dbisam 11010 error when I try to open a
table.

notes:  the networkname is 12 char long (all alphanumeric),
but even with a mapping of c:\app\data on the server to M:\data on the ws
will not solve the problem.

of course on the server pc I can freely do everything in my application
without problems.

on the server I have put all rights to sharing on the c:\app with all the
subdirectories.

we have several customers with a peer-to-peer network and nowhere we have
this strange problem.

can someone give me a hint to solve this ???

regards and thanks in advance,

Erik

Sounds like you are attempting to open the database connection before
it is properly initialized.  Make sure that all properties are set
before attempting to connect.

Hi David,

I use the same appl. with hundreds of customers, at least 100 with a p-2-p
network.
Nobody else is complaining.....

Can you open one of the tables using the DBSYS utility from the workstation
?  If so, then there is obviously a difference in the path being used by the
application when trying to open the tables.

Hi Tim,

I wasn't able to try this. I'll have to make an appointment, so an answer
will need some time.
