<< No, no LargeFileSupport. And only 1 application (in VPC, Wxp with 512mb) with access to this table via a dbisam server (running on the PC with 2gig). Table is around 1.6gig and the index 1.2gig. The application will access this table and some other tables (via the server) around 150.000 + times (both inserts and edits) and then without a warning start generating AV on access to the database. After some time the application then disapears without a hint even in the madexcept logfile other then av. >> My apologies, I just noticed that you said you were using 4.22 B1. Have you tried it with the latest 4.25 build ? There were these bugs in 4.22 that could cause issues for you: http://www.elevatesoft.com/scripts/incident.dll?action=viewrep&category=dbisam&release=4.22&type=f&incident=2141 http://www.elevatesoft.com/scripts/incident.dll?action=viewrep&category=dbisam&release=4.22&type=f&incident=2156 -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

I will try o&o defrag to see if that makes a differance |

After the repairs finished. Could take some time |

First time I've ever posted from the web version. I thought I'd have a go at raising the buffers and see if it speeded things up for running an optimise on TMaN (c200k records 2Gb). Boosted settings to 25 times normal and I'm not seeing any improvement. As the moron I am I forgot to back up first so rather than interupt it and restore the DBISAM created backups I'm just waiting for it to finish and whilst doing so I had a thought. I have full text indexes on a number of fields, with custom filtering. Do these all get regerated when optimising? If so I think I know why its going so slow Like the anti-auto posting spam bit. |

Of course, now I've got some weirdo manually submitting 1-2 "applications" every day for the past 2 months using our customer application submittal form. He/she doesn't seem to understand that all of his/her work just ends up at the mercy of a DELETE WHERE statement and never shows up on our web site. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |
