That's what I have read, and as my post indicated....
"As you are aware, the vendor of software can not supply the older exe"

Also, if what I have read is correct, a fix for this is planned by MS, so it's not worth
spending any significant time on. (At least not for developer tools.)

My MS Help 2 was screwed (blank pages) and then I did the re-register the
hxds.dll step, which fixed the help showing up.  However, the links still
didn't work.  What finally worked is that I got a new machine to run Vista
and after re-installing everthing it now all works. Smiley
