Hi Jose,

Thanks, and the same to you and yours!

Health, peace, happiness and prosperity to all my DBISAM colleagues around
the world. If only international relations were as civil and cordial as we
behave here.

Best regards

that about says it all for me too.

Regards,
Pat

PS, down here in Aussie, there was talk about stopping Santa saying
'Ho, Ho, Ho'. It concerned the 'Ho' referring to the woman being a
person of ill-repute (doing favours for money). Was there talk of this
in your neck-of-the-woods?

I could not believe it, or am I being too sensitive?

No Pat all this PC stuff is a oneway stream really.
In the UK some councils in large imigrant areas
want to rename Christmas, yet the imigrants can
do or say whatever they like.
I live in such an area and its reaching boiling point.
The teddy bear teacher is a prime example, we
can call our teddies whatever we like but its a
problem for some people. I guess Tim will jump
on me for the content but its a sign of the times.
On a lighter note your Ho Ho Ho story reminds
me a pub owner in Weymouth harbour applied
to rename his pub the Oar House he insisted to
the council it was a nautical name and the pub
being in a harbour an all how can it mean anything
else, he didnt get his licence.
Merry xmas

Regrettably it is all a matter of interpretation and subjectivity.

I would interpret the children's decision as naming someone(something) after
'someone' they recognise and have been told was benign and benevolent,
according to the fauth, rather than a put down.  Ergo the naming was actually a
compliment to the religion rather than an insult

But then, that's just me.

The 'Ho Ho Ho', or the Oar',is a poor interpretation of accent put on an
'english' word distorted by a 'Yank' (No offence to the Yanks et.al.) accent.
Again I would interpret anybody saying 'Ho Ho Ho' as being of a jocular and
beneficial nature rather than from the seedy side like the PC police would
rather paint it.  And as for 'Oar', how else can you interpret it if you are of
reasonable thinking?

But then, that's just me.

I am ev so glad that th level of stupidiy hasn't reach here in my corner of
Downunder, yet.

Ian

Rita,
Are you allowed to say "Merry Christmas" in your neck of the woods?
It seems that phrase is no longer politically correct around here and is
replaced with "Happy Holidays". It seems politicians want to make it as
generic as possible so as not to offend anyone.

Dave

In order to offend as many people as possible, I'd just like to say:
Merry Christmas to one and all! Smile
