> << I suppose it could be in a resource anyway.>>
> > What kind of resource are you referring to here ? I think I'm referring to the scary config file. But I'll download the latest version and print the manual I think - it is probably time I had a proper look at it and started using it in something internal. I wonder if it is compatible with the DevExpress Scheduler 3 beta? That would be a nice test. /Matthew Jones/

Tim Young [Elevate Software] Elevate Software, Inc. timyoung@elevatesoft.com | Matthew,
<< I think I'm referring to the scary config file. But I'll download the latest version and print the manual I think - it is probably time I had a proper look at it and started using it in something internal. >> It's really not that scary - DBISAM used a config file for the database server. The only difference with ElevateDB is that both local apps and the database server use a config file. However, that makes it very easy to move back and forth with no effort whatsoever - you can prototype it as a local application, and then move it to C/S later with a simple property change to the TEDBSession SessionType property. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

TVM. Scary is of course the wrong word. I've printed the intro parts of
the manual, and I aim to have it sussed soon. Thanks for your great assistance on this. /Matthew Jones/

Very minor tip, probably to late, - print the manual 2 pages per page - its still readable and you save a small forest. Roy Lambert |

We have B5 JIS paper, and it duplexes, so it is smaller but still
readable, and binds well. /Matthew Jones/

B5 I understand but what is JIS? Roy Lambert |

There are two types of B5, so the JIS part makes sure it is the right one.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paper_sizes In my search for a better way to print manuals (mainly for our customers) I figured it was sensible to find out what our printer knew about and B5 was the best "book" size available. We buy it from our office suppliers, and they get the paper people to deliver boxes which appear to be custom made for us! Before this I used a lot of A5 paper, but that seems small, and shrinks A4 PDFs too much. /Matthew Jones/ |
