Need for OPTIMIZE TABLE |

Oliver Bock | Whenever I install a new version of my software I re-create all my
tables and use INSERT INTO to copy data from the old table into the new table. Given that each table is entirely populated by a single query, is there any need/benefit to run OPTIMIZE TABLE afterwards? (DBISAM v4 latest) Oliver |

Two things to consider. Firstly I would expect the table should be all in in one block rather than fragmented but secondly it may not natively be in the order you want so an OPTIMIZE will help to speed things up a little bit. Roy Lambert [Team Elevate] |
