Super fast distinct? |

Kai | Hi ~
accidentally came across SuperfastDistinct from grebarsys.com and downloaded their demo. It seems to be of limited usability to the average user since it only does distinct selects; it does, however, in that discipline run circles around DBIsam and others. My question: Can something be learned from it to improve DBIsam and ElevateDB? Cheers Kai |

<< My question: Can something be learned from it to improve DBIsam and ElevateDB? >> AFAIK they're using existing indexes to do the DISTINCT processing, and ElevateDB will currently use a primary index for any DISTINCT query. There will be further improvements along these lines as things progress with ElevateDB. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |
