"Carlos" | Now I use DBISAM 3.30
Rarely use SQL query and not ever use the dbsrvr.exe; there are never more than 10 users connected. Using only TABLE with unmanaged applications, which benefits would go to the version 3.x to 4.x ? Thanks Carlos |

Fernando Dias Team Elevate | Carlos,
The main benefit is Version 4 is curently supported, so if you have a support plan you can count on bug fixes from Elevate and maybe some new features too. For example, V4 officialy supports Delphi 2009 but I believe you can't count on that kind of changes for V3 since development have been frozen for some time. Apart from thiat, there are also a lot of new features, that may or may not be important to you, for example: - Better table encryption - BLOB field compression - Descending fields in indexes - GUID fields - A new TDBISAMEngine component - Trigger event handlers an many other new features. You can read the complete list of changes here: http://www.elevatesoft.com/manual?action=mancat&id=dbisam4&product=d&version=7&category=0 -- Fernando Dias [Team Elevate] |
