Thread Organize data objects inside a DataModule

Hi.

This is a bit of the topic, but I don't know where else to start...

I have a datamodule that has grown to a number of object that makes it hard
to find what I'm looking for.
Have anyone come over a way to organize the dataobjects (tables, queries,
datasources...) into groups by drawing "frames" around certain object that
belong?

Regards

I don't think so but it sounds like a very good idea. What about just using several datamodules?

Hi

I have two data modules as my first one was full of controls.  I cant see another solution to this.

The only problem I've come across is that if the session is in datamodule1 and the controls linked to it are in datamodule2 then closing the session
does not close the queries in datamodule2, something to be aware of (D7).

Pity you cant scroll it.

Welcome to my world.

I clone mine for different projects and remove what I can.

Try the data module context menu by right clicking on the DM
or figure do you really need a DM coz they are there.
Could you use a TForm and call it DM1 then you could add
panels coloured of course, or splitter infact its probaly better
than a true DM why do we need them ?
I unserstand re-usable modules would be helpful in say an Ebay
type app as I'am busy ripping their groups off as I speak.
I guess you are workin on something huge and being a nosey
type I'am curious.
The biggest app I know about at the mo using DBIsam is the
Hong Kong racing club and thats one big org.
Our very own Eryk mentioned it in here and I followed up
and its runnin 4 Data servers with DBIsam well it was at one
time.
I do know about another thats in development right now using
Builder and DBIsam by a UK guy who I see from time to time.
