Is there a a 'time-scale' for DBISAM support for RAD Studio XE?

Tim is the only one that can answer it but considering D2010 is supported the support part should be straightforward - recompile of code is all it will likely take.

More work is testing and adding the Delphi XE to his build and test processes - in the past he has delivered the build within a few weeks (though he might be busy rebuilding a server at the moment).

If you have a source code version of DBISAM and need it urgently you can probably recompile a version yourself.

Thanks for that. I have tried, amended the package names, amended the dbisamvr.inc file to include VER220 (with the same settings as VER210). Whilst I have the source code version unfortunately I don't appear to have dbisamsv.pas (only a .dcu). Compiling the run time package dies with an error 2212 naming dbisamsv as the culprit!

i assume you followed steps here :

http://www.elevatesoft.com/manual?action=viewtopic&id=dbisam4&product=r&version=2010&topic=Recompiling_DBISAM_Source_Code

In my case the dbisamsv.pas file is present in <install path>\code\source".

Based on help link above you do need the source with server engine - i'm not too familiar with the different versions to know if some lack the file!?

My version is DBISAM VCL Standard with Source Code. I believe the 'server' element of the source code (dbisamsv) is not included.

Thanks anyway.

Gregory,

Normally it would be available pretty soon, but it's going to take a couple
of weeks due to our recent server hard drive crash and the fact that
Embarcadero decided to change their versioning to letters instead of
numbers, which is going to require changing our entire system from using
numerics to strings for product version numbers.

Yes, we have to leave out this unit because it contains the licensing code
that determines the number of licensed users per server.

I recommend ignoring XE and using D2011 instead.

A number of Components suppliers seem to be using numerics. TMS use 2011, Fastreports 15, Devart 150. Pretty much carrying on with the own version scheme.
