Thread 64 Bit Server
Tue, Nov 30 2010 10:23 AMPermanent Link

Michael Saunders

My client wants to upgrade his 32 Bit Server to the latest 64 Bit.  He is running a rather old Delphi 7 application and DBISAM 3.30. This accesss the tables both directly from the workstations as well as via a server program using  kbmMw components. The language is to the ANSI  Standard.

Should this new server be able to run this application as is or or there any issues to be aware of

Many thanks in advance

Michael,

Provided that you're not re-installing the application/server, then
everything should continue to work just fine.

I don't think this is a problem but could you expand a bit on the reinstall issues here so I am clear for future reference

Thanks

The older 3.30 installations weren't 64-bit aware in terms of the registry
and the Program Files, etc. special folders, so you might run into
installation issues if you try to reinstall the product on a 64-bit machine,
as opposed to just copying over the necessary applications and servers.
